An infection that occurs in the esophagus, the tube that carries food from mouth to the stomach by yeast Candida is called Candida Esophagitis.

It occurs when the yeast spreads from mouth down the esophagus. It weakens the immune system. Mostly people suffering from diabetes or HIV/AIDS are affected. The symptoms that are generally seen in the patients of Candida Esophagiis are following:

They are given medicines to curb the pain. It can be treated effectively. The difficulty arises when there are holes in the esophagus or the infection spreads to other parts of the body. Therefore as soon as a person sees the symptoms he should see a doctor.

If an individual takes careful measures to prevent HIV/AIDS chances of yeast infection is lowered. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency virus) causes AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) which causes severe damage to immune system. The virus is transmitted through sexual contact, through blood transfusion or sharing of needle when injecting. It is transmitted from a pregnant woman to her baby in the womb. So, people should be careful. By preventing HIV/AIDS one can also prevent Candida.

Oral hygiene should also be maintained to avoid this infection.
