How to Cure a Yeast Infection both Internally and Externally

Yeast infections are signs of an overgrowth of the yeast named Candida albican.

For better understanding of how to cure a yeast infection let us first discuss about this yeast and how it becomes malignant.

Candida albicans is a peaceful inhabitant of our body under normal conditions. It lives in our body in small quantities as a parasite. It survives by eating the sugars that it gets within our body. It exists in a balanced way with the acidophilus bacteria. The latter feeds on the Candida and thereby controls it from growing beyond its normal limit.

However, sometimes the bacteria itself gets killed.

This can happen due to excessive use of antibiotics, steroids etc. These drugs kill the good bacteria along with the harmful ones. This creates an imbalance in the pH levels in the body.

In such a case the yeasts get a chance to grow beyond the normal limit.

The intestinal yeast overgrowth needs to be controlled in an effective manner. If it is left untreated or if it is not diagnosed properly then the intestinal yeast can grow into a fungus. It develops rhizoids which are root like structures. In its fungal form the mild parasite that existed in our body as yeast becomes potentially dangerous. It penetrates its rhizoids into the intestinal walls and ruptures it. This wall serves as a protective barrier between the intestines and the blood stream. When it gets punctured by the yeast the semi-digested food and the fungus itself can infiltrate through it and contaminate the blood.

Therefore it is quite essential to control the intestinal yeast overgrowth even when the infection takes place in other parts such as the mouth, vagina etc. This is primarily because the intestinal yeast overgrowth, if unchecked, can spread the infection to other parts of the body.

The crux of the matter is that we need to control the yeast overgrowth both internally as well as externally to eradicate the infection completely.

Lets us discuss how to cure a yeast infection internally as well as externally:

Restoring acidophilus or the good bacteria that controls yeast overgrowth is essential.
For this, one needs to use either of these:

# Plain unsweetened yogurt.
# Acidophilus supplements or capsules
# Probiotics

Cranberry is effective in restoring the pH balance as well. It is available in the form of:

# Pills/tablets
# Tea
# Juice

Water is helpful in flushing out yeast toxins through urine. Hence 8-10 glasses of water should be taken daily.

To cure oral candidiasis a tea tree oil mouthwash is effective. Add 4-5 drops of oil in water and gargle with it.

Avoid nylon under wears as they trap heat and moisture inside and provide an ideal environment for the yeast growth.

Keep the skin clean and dry.

Plain yogurt is therapeutic in curing skin yeast infections as it contains acidophilus bacteria. It can be applied topically.

Avoid sugars during the treatment to deprive the yeasts of their food.

These remedies enlighten us about how to cure a yeast infection in a holistic way.
